New to this forum and Ford F250s... Just picked this one up from Texas. My father-in-law got it from original owner. 100% Texas farm truck it's entire life. 360, 4 speed. Been off the road since 2002. Had it shipped to Ohio and having my mechanic go through it. It fired right and all lights worked. Amazing how these things survive. We believe original 36k miles, original bias play tires too that surprisingly still keeps air to move around the ship. I even have the original receipt from when the owner bought it in '69! Some things we've already done are:
New 4 barrel carb, plugs, wires, distributor, oil/filter, rebuilt radiator, new tank, alternator and now pulling the engine w a full performance rebuild kit w stage 2 cam. Gonna get is cleaned up and painted ford blue so along w transmission, will look like new. Also ordered new calli tires. Will get seat reupholstered and some poppys patina. Should be fun for now.
Also looking for a passenger side towing mirror to match the one on the driver side if anyone has one.
Welcome to the forum. Great truck and history. Looks like a barn find. Glad to see it get back on the road.
I'm a patina guy too. I've heard good things about Poppy's, but I gave mine a Comet wash and wipe down with $12 of Penetrol from Home Depot and am happy with the results.

I also used Penetrol and am very happy with the results, I keep the truck in a garage as I have heard that Penetrol can start to yellow from UV rays.
It's an oil based paint additive but you can apply directly to paint and metal. I hadn't heard of it before either. It treats rust and brings provides some shine and protection.
Thanks! No rust anywhere other than surface rust. My understanding is that during summers, they used it to camp with. That is an intercom system that used to connect w the camper that was attached. I even have the receipt for the camper. Says Papoose Model 404 Cabover. I will add 2 more pictures of the engine bay and cab. As you will see. Little to no rust.
Welcome to FTE. That truck seems to be in pretty good shape for it's age. And I really hate to be that guy, but your driver's side mirror is mounted wrong. It's to low on the door. And as for patina. I'm a big fan of it.
Thanks. No worries on being "that guy". Good to learn. Which mirror? The towing style trailer or the original on the door that's missing the mirror part?

The towing mirror is mounted too low. All mirrors that style that I have seen, the top bar mounts to the top of the door frame above the window.
The images below are a poor example since these are on a '74 Dodge D600 Grain Truck, but should give you an idea what we're talking about. It's the only pictures I have of a vehicle with that style mirror.
The mirror that you are calling a towing style. What a lot of people call them are West Coast Mirror's. And the come in two different sizes. The other one is called a West Coast Jr. cause the mirror head is a little bit smaller. Right now on e-bay is a passenger side West Coast Jr. mirror. The seller is asking $180.00 + $40.00 to ship it by USPS. The part that the mirror head bolts onto is slightly bent. I'm thinking it could be bent back if you are careful. The picture that you need to look for is the mirror sitting in a maroon office chair. Sorry I don't know how to send you a link for it. They usually go for north of stupid money when you find them. Also on e-bay somebody has just one side listed and they are asking I hope that you are sitting when you read this $600.00 for a drivers side. Now it does look to be in really good shape but $600.00 + $13.00 for shipping. No. Years ago I was lucky/blessed to find a pair in a junkyard. And they only wanted $10.00 for both of them. I couldn't the money out of my pocket fast enough.
