Turn signals dont work but do when jumper the wires
Well i had this in another thread but decided to make a new one to keep the problems separate. Its an 84 ranger 2.8 4x4. The turn signals did work untill i messed with some wires to figure out a different problem. Well i back tracked all the wires i messed with and still cant fix it. I replaced the turn signal switch and didnt fix it. But if i jumper a wire between the green/org to the white/red on the back of the plug that goes into the turn signal switch it blinks. So could it still be a wire issue or could it be the new signal switch being bad? One thing i did was i took out the trailer wire harness someone had on the back cause it was in bad shape. I cut the wires out and repatched them to the color that mached. Im wondering if that plug was making a wire loop or something and now its not since its gone so thats why i have no signals? Sounds stupid but iv tried about everything else and im sick of it.
Now I still dont have turnsignals like i said before if i jumper a wire between 2 wires in the plug that goes into the turn signal switch my blinkers work. So do you think it is just a bad turn sig switch or problem be somewhere else? I did notice if i jump between the green/org to the white/red it blinks either left or right dont remember
that was the problem the lt blue was not getting power so i traced to see how it got power and saw it was the purple and found that wire in the fuse box and it was loose and not making contact with the fuse. I pressed it back in and blinkers started working . Thanks for all your electrical help Franklin2.
