yeah I contemplated selling my 99 a while back. After a week of bs like scammers, “ill send my driver to come get it” or go to this website and fill all this private info never mind the I got 1/2 of your asking price but it’s cash bro…(I actually had a guy say that. I told him at that offer I’ll just keep it ….I basically said screw it’s I’m just gonna keep the truck.
to this day I still get a call here and there. This was two years ago.

Here in 2021 that truck might be worth it.

I have a fantasy of opening a repair shop down in AZ, doing nothing but 70's Ford (and maybe Chevy) truck rebuilds and sales. Shop employs the locals and sells to locals, with tired trucks hauled in from all over the USA. Except the Rust Belt unless they are super clean, since rust repair is a giant time sink. Profit not primary goal, but employment, trade skills (all sorts), and solid work trucks injected into the area. The trucks are still out there to be salvaged, be nice to put them and the locals back to work.

More like a side of the road find in Bristol, IN.

It's a 4R100. Tan leather with the faux wood. Striking color combo IMO. Is the red bottom factory paint? I know they did two tones but never seen that one.

Not sure on that one either but I'm guessing he'll get darn near his asking price if he's patient. I think he just put it for sale last week or so. I go that way frequently and was thinking "whoa-ho somebody's selling that?"

Facebook marketplace is great but yiu gotta put the word out there. Not everyone looks at FB marketplace. Offer up, auto trader Craigslist.
my buddy just sold his 99 f350 crew for 23,000.
I had people as far as Chicago calling on my F250 when I had it for sale.

how many miles? Style and options? How is the physical appearance of the truck?

Yes, I agree with you. I just wasn't super serious about selling it. It was more of a "lemme see what kind of interest shows up". And I don't have FB. I used my wife's account, so no 7.3 groups or any of that to help get it out there. I guess I could put it out there if I was serious enough. To answer your other question, I have a build thread on here. 398k miles, LOTS of work done, good physical appearance. I have no reason to sell other than wanting a 4x4 and maybe go back to SRW. But it's not something I want so much that I was willing to post everywhere and deal with the lookie-loos that come out of the woodwork. That may change though. I sure miss my last truck. Should have kept it.

Did you add, "I don't have to sell this truck but if you give me this much you can have it"? And, "Don't low-ball me, I know what I have"? They seem to motivate buyers.

I don’t bother calling at all. Most of those are way way overpriced and I know the seller thinks the item is made of gold and diamonds simply because they own it.

here’s some crazy price on a excursion and it sold

Ive been wondering if they actually sell that stuff or if its just a marketing gimmick.

The trucks demanding and selling for $20,000 or more have not been rode hard and put up wet. They have not had turbo failures, electrical failures, hacked up wiring, fuel problems, intermittent noises, cracked and oxidized paint, $h|t stains on the seats and carpet, fluid changes exceeding intervals, busted up seats, etc...

The trucks demanding a high price are worth it, to someone that doesn't want a busted up truck, but wants a show quality 7.3L and usually 4x4. They are selling, obviously, but you are not going to get $20,000 for a farm truck that was beat, maintenance neglected and not cared for just because it has a 7.3L in under the hood.

The truck having a 7.3L in it does not make it worth $20,000... The truck being in new or show condition makes it worth $20,000 and 99% of these trucks (including mine) are not in show quality. That is OK though, I wouldn't sell mine for less than $50,000 and even then I would probably turn it down...

Case in point... Which do you think claims to have sold for $43,000 and which do you think has not sold for $20,000?
