Walker 22920

Old one out,new one in!

Old around 9\",new 10" or bit more

Just for comparison

Two chambers ,straight through

Old is \"baffled",right..?
Installed on a 2000e350.
4" downpipe,5"stainless system
I have exhaust leak from a quick install,
will add videos when those are fixed..
Old muffler had a drone but SEEMS that this
doesnt drone at all, even with those leaks!

Dude I kid you not but age has creep on me and plan on adding a muffler to my OBS in the near future.
The 6.0 kitty i installed helped alot but want it to be almost silent and just hear the 7.3 sing

Same here. First thing I did 12 years ago when I bought it was straight pipe it. 12 years later it was obnoxious so in a muffler went. The cabs so quite I can actually think.

Driving with 5"straight pipe,in a town or short trips is cool as is gets..But driving with 5"straight pipe for 15 hours in a week,is..Not so cool anymore..

Did the research and 5.9 and big rig guys have used this with good success. This is the cheapest,so called school bus muffler. Was looking for Donaldson mufflers also, they have a wide catalog for these,no reasonable shipping to Finland.RockAuto was cheapest on this one.

I installed a 4" MBRP with muffler exhaust years ago. Due to the H/H mod and the MBRP system, my wife can have a normal volume conversation at 65 MPH in the cab of the truck.

I understand that these trucks are louder than a 6.7L, but I would in no way consider them uncomfortably loud.

Sous,have you driven with a 7.3 VAN,
with 5"stainless straight pipe?
1000 miles per week,for 2 months?
Body of a van resonates way more than pickup..

From this clip you can hear a little bit..
Exhaust leaks not fixed yet, going to move exhaust outlet from passenger side to drivers side.
Less fumes to the cab when passengers goes in and out..

No sir, but I have countless hours flying in military aircraft that had jet and/or propeller engines. This is to include rotary and fixed wing aircraft.

I understand that a straight piped engine of any size can be obnoxiously loud, but with a properly tuned/selected exhaust and other minor fixes the 7.3L can be kept to a very comfortable volume.

Also, congrats on 500,000 miles!

On my 5.4 X if my kids sit in the second row they have to yell at me for me to hear them, the third row they have to scream for me to be able to hear them, but I'm also straight piped with only the kitty being the muffler lolol...
Modulars sound good but as with my OBS, age is starting to be my worst enemy.

Holy moly - a Finnish stroker van with US odometer with 500.000 miles on its clock - thats 800.000 km. I see you have your speed ring in miles and its the outer one that set the distance , in your case its miles. So - if I'm thinking straight you have a 800.000km van - that's a northern hemisphere record to me never heard of. Well done Marika.

Front of muffler

Nice fit

Rear of muffler

Plenty of clearance

Did some work at hangers, took some photos of muffler.
Not happy with rubber hangers, extra weight of muffler does not help either..Going to upgrade with polyurethane ones..
