Is oil really not prefiltered?

Your truck will shut down w/out prefilling that filter.. Ask me how I know..
Thought I'd try it once...Never again!

I do not however "prefill" the filters on the John Deere generators on the Tug, what I do do is
pull the lead off the fule pump so I can crank it w/out it starting to prefill the filter after its screwed on..

That's a big filter! i ordered a ELF 7405 they sent me an DBL 7405 It seems to be the same. Its wider than the WIX filter i had on there, couldnt use the same fitler wrench on it and it took 3.5 quarts to fill. Truck fired right up and idled smooth but i also switched from 6k mile 5w40 rotella t6 to the redline 15w40. It definitely idles smoother but probably becuase i had such old oil/filter in there
