USPS here is just slower than molasses in the state... has been since the govt cutbacks in 2014.. they thought it was a grand idea to consolidate all the mail distribution to one location in the whole state.. (originally we had 6) bad part was the one they consolidated it to was the worst one in the state before.. now its even worse.. even stuff mailed to somewhere within the same city now has to go aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllll the way to the distribution center and come aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllll the way back for delivery.. mail times are now 1-2 weeks city to city or same city delivery.. stuff from outside the state or leaving the state seems to be pretty quick.. but thats compared to the week-2.. its about 3 days for delivery once it hits that center...

One way to get UPS to get a signature 100% of the time is have the box checked [X] "Adult Signature Required"

She ran like dog doo for the first two minutes whilst the air worked out but after a drive is butter smooth.
I didn't have any bad top seals but some where showing the signs of erosion. I did do the oil rail, passenger side nipple cups were loose.
Went with the HHC viton o-rings on the oil rails and the Alliant injector seal kits.
One thing that struck me as odd was when my son was taking the drivers side oil cups out, he turned the QD fitting out with his fingers. It had worked loose, and that o-ring was about gone from erosion. I did have that side off around 20k miles ago, and that little tiny allen head plug was starting to loosen up as well. I know I would have tightened those but obviously not tight enough. Keep in mind I have the early style log rail.
I can honestly say that between all new seals and those two findings on the drivers oil rail that she does start with more authority hot now. No doubt about it, and I dropped around one % on the hot idle IPR and ICP is down a little more hot idle.

I was under the understanding that the plugs were to never taken out. Maybe that is just the wavy one. Don't know.
Maybe clean then up and place a dab of blue Loctite on the threads.

This is what I use. A slam with the hammer and it's off.
Regular wrench is 47mm or 1 7/8".
That should be good for 6.0. 7.3's are the 36mm.

The 2000 7.3L is 47+mm. I found that this 1 7/8 wrench fits the nut pretty good:

they have this stupid little rule atleast in my area, that if the area "looks" safe enough they can just leave packages on door steps.. Fedex seems to do a better job of adhering to the signature orders... but UPS and USPS dont.. only time USPS do is if it says Restricted Signature Delivery.. which with that one they have to deliver specifically to the person that the mail is addressed to..

That signature trick was told to me by a UPS rep that said that
there are not allowed to drop and run one that has the adult sig required.

If you ever do ret one report it. The reason behind it is things that only adults
should be getting. Think of all the over 21 stuff you can get on the net these days.
Alcohol is one of the things.

Anyway all the services need some work. USPS is run like a welfare operation.

l'm probably thinking of the IDI 7.3/6.9's. That's why I like my universal wrench above. One of them will fit.

Pete,

That's a pretty good universal fan tool you posted. Who makes it?

Edit - Found it.

I'll have to go out and check but a quick search shows its a Lisle 42920 Universal Fan Clutch tool. It is a 2 pc kit. that came with a clamp style holder that can be used to hold the pulley by the pulleys retaining bolts in other applications. I rarely use it because I leave the belt on to hold it from spinning over. The tool kit is available on Amazon.

I was searching so I edited in probably while you were posting. I usually edit a lot a few minutes later. Sometimes I wish I could do that for some of the things I say to my wife. Or so she tells me.

Not the plug Sean, I wasn't really specific in my description. On the early build log type rail it's the fitting that the braided hose snaps on. I think it might be a check valve, or some kind of metering valve since its got an orifice and you can't just see right through the fitting.
I don't think they are really meant to come out unless you have to replace it for some reason. There was a guy here about a month ago that broke his by accident. The local dealer stocks one, so it must be something that happens from time to time.

havent done much to mine lately besides run it to work and back

my friend bought an 05 reg cab XLT 6.0 with 215k for 5 grand, and weve been doing a few things to it. put on fisher plow wiring (had fisher push plates already), backup camera, blue spring, new thermostat, new degas bottle cap...just picked up an EGR delete for it, and hes gonna get some riffraff hot side intercooler boots before we do that.

I want to put an SCT fitting in it, but im not sure how involved that is. I did the HPOP on my 2003 and it wasnt that bad, but how is it doing that fitting? I figure with the turbo and pedestal out for the EGR delete...basically gonna be almost there
