1979 f-150 restoration project

Hello all! I have just joined this forum after picking up a 1979 F-150. it has been sitting for over 10 years in the weeds and the box, cab and pretty much everything but the frame was rusted out. this was my dads truck until he sold it mint and the guy he sold it to drove it for a few years then let it rot. 12 years later it comes back home for some work i will post updates and pics to this thread as soon as i start digging into this project. Also drop pics of your rigs below

Hey guys I am looking for some suggestions on whether I should replace the shocks that had came with the truck after sitting for 12 years. the shocks seem structurally sound other that surface rust and maybe some bushings that may need to be replaced. any thoughts before I go through the work of sanding, painting and installing them.

How do the shocks feel? If you can compress them by hand, they're shot

Thanks for the info! i have tried to compress them by hand and they compressed. also when they compressed it sounded like some fluid was sloshing around in there.
