Picked up a bed kit in Ohio yesterday. Started putting it together using some plain pine boards while I mock it up and get it welded. It's starting to look like a truck again. Only big items left to buy are the 4 fenders.

Mid West Early Ford I am guessing did you buy the complete bed kit or just the side, front panel and rear cross member?

Yes it was Mid West Early Ford. It was the complete kit. But I didn't get the hidden latches. I opted for the standard chains and brackets instead. I'm not fond of Red Oak so I didn't get it either. I have my father making me floor boards from some lumber he has.

I also picked up the complete tail light kit while I was at it. It had the original style round tail lights.

Sounds good Indy! Sounds like a good stock rebuild. Are you going to paint the bed boards the body color? What color will the truck be?

Truck color will be the original Glacier Blue. I will leave the bed boards natural color, but treat them with something like Tung Oil to protect them.

The bed looks good! What's your time frame for painting?

That is a vintage PA plate there.... 1975!

As soon as I get the fenders it will be going for paint. But at $350 a piece it may be a while before I can pick them up.

That plate is the last time it was licensed for the road. Put it on there till I get it licensed here in the next month or so.
