WTB-OEM Auxiliary battery set up 79 F-250

I'm looking to buy an OEM auxiliary battery set up for my 79 F-250
My truck originally came with this option but was removed by the PO.

I'm looking for the whole set up from the auxiliary battery tray back.

PM me or respond to this thread with what you have. I'm staying with an OEM restoration so please let me know which of these parts you may have. Hopefully all of it.

Why do you need 2 batteries ? What are you going to power ? I converted a right side one and you can't tell the difference. Drill out the spot welds and bend back in a few places, reweld and paint. As far as wiring, we need more imfo.

Perhaps a consideration for this aftermarket Battery Isolator/Combiner from Hellroaring.

It has a few advantages to the relay ford used, although a bit pricey.

The truck is original paint. I also have the original window sticker that lists the auxiliary battery option.

I'm trying to preserve the truck and stay as factory as possible.

The PO installed an upgraded sound system that sounds really nice so I am keeping that. It has an amp running the door speakers and a small sub woofer behind the seat.

I also have the factory push bar and factory rally bar (roll bar). Both have marchal fog lights installed. So four fog lights total.

Part of the auxiliary battery harness is behind the dash but has been cut when the rest was removed.

The radio and lights may not be enough to need the extra battery but I still want to add back to the truck the auxiliary battery option that it once had.

Hopefully I can source the factory components for the auxiliary battery. If not I may have to go this route. Thank you for this info.

It all depends on what you want to do. I've got a winch so my batteries are in parallel but if you got a camper you would want to isolate.

Maybe someone will come along and post a wiring diagram of the factory system for you. I'd like to see it too, I have seen the setups but I don't remember any part of it being under the dash ? I don't have a good pic of the box but it's no big deal to change one over.

Factory LH dual battery tray and LH battery hold-down bracket on my 79 bronco. The underside braces from the RH side will be the same.

Not for sale. Just a reference photo. I have used aftermarket dual battery trays, but they look out of place and nothing beats the look and fit of the original.

A wiring diagram can be sourced here: 1973-1979 Ford Truck Wiring Diagrams & Schematics - FORDification.net

I used the 1979 diagrams... The auxiliary battery is shown on Sheet 2. It's easier if ya print out the schematics on 11x17 paper. It's a pain in the buttocks to decipher on the web.

Btw, here are pics of the parts. I repaired the tray because, like most, a corner had been eaten away by battery acid.... Amazingly, the OEM continuous duty solenoid still worked. The alternative if it was dead would have been to install a Cole-Hersee solenoid.:

Great picture!

Do you recall what the plug labeled "B" went to?

I still have that part of the auxiliary harness hanging out of my firewall.
