Trying to decide on what to todo with my exhaust. Currently I have a 4" turbo back to si-do flo pro muffler to the 4" dual tail pipes and 5" tips

I'd like it a bit louder then it is now.

First question I guess should I keep the dual tail pipes or go to a single tail pipe? Would it make any difference?
I could easily pull the muffler out and cut a piece out of the tail pipe to fill the spot and run a single straight pipe.
Or do they make a Y that I could replace the muffler with to run the dual tails but no muffler?

Any input would be great

I bought the 4" MBRP Turbo-Back system w/Dual Tails & when I ordered it they told me there's no real Performance Gain to the Dual-Tails but they do have more Sound (louder).
I must say this system combined w/Kitty Delete Pipe sound awesome (V8 Rumble w/Turbo whistle)

My dad has the Banks Monster (single) on his 6.0 & it's way too quiet

That sounds about right. They had the engine sparkling and the paint gleaming on the lot. I doubt they even covered up the electronics when they pressure washed the engine.

I pulled the intake off...found a frayed wire in the wire harness between the injectors and the FICM.

Every step I take seems to be leading closer to having to do the HG. All the leaking fluids seem to be coming from the top and back of the driver’s side head.

I just pray that I don’t find anything worse than a blown HG when I get the heads off…my budget can’t support much more than external filter kits, ARP studs, and Ford OEM HGs.

the one by the trash bag holder always seems to work in mine.. and my neighbors.. but the one up near the radio with the mini garage door doesnt.. every time we try to use them in either truck they wont work.. hes taken his in twice to have it trouble shot and both times works when the tech tries to.. same with mine.. everytime ive ripped the dash apart.. boom instantly works.. next time id get in the truck nothing again.. i was tired of it.. it was either in the plug itself or the electrical connector.. either way i took care of the issue..

I'd be very surprised if the head gasket is leaking coolant externally. This may seem like a stupid question, but did you check the heater hose where it runs by the corner of the FICM for a hole? They are prone to rubbing and leak at weird times.

Not yet, but I'll definitely look closely at it tonight.

What bugs me the most is all the oil...both on the engine and in the coolant.

Something somewhere just isn't right...I can tear it down to the heads but that's as far as I can go with the equipment I have available in my driveway.

I'm definitely not afraid to take it apart, but I wish I knew these engines better.

I guess now that I have virtually everything off the top of the engine I might as well pull the heads and stud them regardless of anything else I find.

Any 6.0L Expert Driveway Mechanics in central Indiana interested in making a new acquaintance?

You may have already done this, but check in your local state chapter of FTE. You may have some takers on your offer.

I guess I missed the part about oil in the coolant. That sounds like an oil cooler but if its not chocolate milk I'm lost. What did the "shop" do to your motor when they "repaired" it???

I tried that once before without any luck...

They were supposed to have put in a new oil cooler, but if they didn't flush the system they probably toasted the new cooler. I called the cooler manufacture and they said they would replace it if it was indeed bad, again. At the same time as the cooler they were supposed to replace all the seals in the injectors and new intake gaskets. (When I pulled the intake I did find that the gaskets were new...but I didn't see a Ford P/N on them)

The latest thing that has me worried about the work they did is the multiple loose and/or missing nuts and bolts! At a minimum I going to take everything they were supposed to have taken off the engine off again to make sure that it is all put back together correctly and torqued correctly.

$3.48/gallon for diesel?

You could drive a tanker truck down here and sell it for $3.70 a gallon and make yourself some money...cheapest I've seen it here in the last 9 plus months is $3.77...

Discounted .45 with points at Fred Meyer's here in Washington. The best I have done was $1.00 off per gallon.

I can get it for 3.53/gal here but I refuse to buy at that station OR submit to their Club terms. I paid 3.61/gal for Shell yesterday. I could probably find it cheaper if I wanted to drive 30 or 40 miles but that would make it a moot point.
