CC3Z*15K861*AAPTM - outer left

CC3Z*15K861*ABPTM - outer right

I don't remember if the other two matter since they are on a flat surface. I do remember them the part numbers indicating inner left and inner right. I will see if I can find them.

Thanks Tim,

I found it!

When the retainers are ordered the CC3Z-15K861 is the prefix for all four:
AAPTM = OD or Outside Left
BAPTM = ID or Inner Left
AA = IP or Inner Right
ABPTM = OP or Outside Right

The retainers are actually stamped OD,ID,IP or OP for Outside Driver, Inside Driver, Inside Passenger or Outside Passenger.

This may not seem important except that I have a standard Super Duty bumper (not a King Cab or Lariat) also not chrome. So no holes, no notches just taking measurements and not obsessing about every bad outcome.

Drilling holes is one small chore, only two are through metal the two on the inside are pre-stamped through the metal you just have to go through the bumper cover, still you don't want them to be out of alignment. The PITA is the position of the notches that allow the retainers to be inserted that prevents them rotating in the hole.

I was looking at the retainers through the plastic bag that they come in trying to ascertain the differences so I would know which clip went where which would also indicate where to locate the notch. After approximately 30 minutes of staring at them I found a set of markings that led me to the answer.

Even though I had them figured out by shape and configuration I found a marking that was similar yet different from the part #'s. At first they seem to be in a series...not so quick bucko.

While looking at the minutiae I found the answer: on one of the longer tabs of the retainers is the marking - OD, ID, IP, OP.

Ford has them marked just the way I would by Driver's side/Passenger Side and not left/right.

Hope to finish today.

Now that you mention all that I do remember spending a bunch of time planning out where to make the notches.

My Bumper didn't have the holes either so I had to drill them out. I didn't have an exact sized drill bit and I tried to use a step bit but the metal was a bit to tough for the one I had. I ended up using a file to make it just a little bit wider. I also used a small file to make the notches in the circle.

It took longer than I though but I was success in making it happen and I really like the look.

--on a side note I picked up a 2005 front bumper for my upcoming, not sure when, front end conversion. I still need to find more parts.

I do as well, I ask DW "What do you think?"

It does not match the cladding what are you going to do?

So ... I am thinking ... the "Upland Bird Hunter/UGA Bulldogs/Manchester Panthers/ Red Black Edition"

"Red Black Team Fight Back"
