Where is the best place (price) to get a MAP sensor. I always read that the gray in color (F4TZ-9F479A - 3 Bar.Motorcraft PN (DY708) was the correct one, and mine was gray color, so I was peaceful, but the other day I checked the number of it and it has the F4TF-9S480-AA, what is supposed to be black in color, oh my mistake, and as I have having lost of power in high altitude and bad MPG and reading that with the black in color it could be happens, I was believing that my issue was caused for other thing, but now, I’m almost convinced that the “wrong” MAP sensor is the culprit, so I’m going to buy the correct gray in color and number, and that’s the reason I’m asking. I have searched in the internet and got prices between $ 103 to $165.<o></o> <o> </o> Thanks in advance.<o></o>
Jose, what does your scan gauge indicate on boost? Find a safe place then accelerate to about 20 MPH and floor it to about 55 - 60 MPH. On my pretty much stock truck I can get 16 PSI and don't expect anything more without additional mods. I have the same as yours F4TF-9S480-AA and it looks black because it's encased in a black bracket and has a black plug. I've researched F4TZ-9F479A against the other number and they show up as the same part, just different numbers. Also I've benched tested my MAP sensor under different pressures and the output correlates to the proper frequency output per pound of boost. The above test, peddle to the metal should give you some indication if it's working properly or not.

Jim, Yes both numbers looks or are the same color as I understand, but in the article that Pete linked you can see that the performance is different between them . Im going o to the test what you mention. normally the scan gauge reads negative numbers at idle (-2, -7)
