Is rancho and monroe shocks related?

I was just curious if they are owned by the same people. Turns out rancho shocks rebate is back and it lists monroe stuff as well.

Sorry you had a bad experience with our shocks. Many PSD owners really like the RS9000XL's our adjustable shocks and we are getting great reviews on our new mono tube shock, the RS7000MT.
90 day Free Ride offer as well. If you aren't happy with them return them for a full refund.
From the December issue of Four Wheeler.

We are under the umbrella of Monroe, but have our own sales/engineers etc.
The rebate is a nice little kicker.

Rancho Suspension,
Please watch the beginning of my video, were I compare the Rancho shocks to the Bilstein shocks.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ith-video.html

I understand my stock shocks were not the RS9000XL ones, but you would think that your shocks wouldn’t be dead at 2,900 miles of use. Also the RS9000 shocks have to be adjusted for driving environments, the Bistein 5100 are self adjusting. Crawling under a truck to turn a shock valve **** seems….well, ridiculous. Just my opinion…..Doug913, sorry to side track your thread.

I am good to go with your video.
Comparing a shock that we make to Ford's specs (that retails for $40ish) to a shock that retails for over $100.00 dollars. The $100 shock should be better.
Hence many people like the 9000XL and the ability to set their shock to their desired ride. Now reaching under a truck and twisting a **** once in a while, pretty simple, especially if you are looking over your truck once in a while.

Rancho Suspension please let me know why I should put the 7000's on my truck instead of the Bilstein 5100. I am also of the camp that I don't want to be adjusting my shocks, I just want to hook up and go.

I think one of the main things that sets us apart from our competition is our 90 day trial offer. Let's say you buy another shock, fast forward a month or so and you hate them, the return is going to be, most likely, not easy.

I also think that our relationship with so many OEM's helps as well and our engineers who work with so many brands/ applications too. It really gives us an advantage.

And of course our Lifetime warranty as well.Read the competitions warranty. Save that receipt! I had a gentlemen e-mail me and he had his receipt and over 150K mile on his shocks (remember shocks are a wear item) and he got a set warrantied.

Hope this answers your questions.

Here is ours 90 day policy from our website:

Performance Guarantee and 90-Day Risk-Free Ride Offer
We challenge you to try our Rancho® RS9000XL™ Shock Absorbers risk-free for 90 days - if these products* don't meet the challenge, call us for your money back.

Try qualifying Rancho® products* for 90 days. We guarantee you'll experience the Rancho® performance difference! If, for any reason, the qualifying products* don't live up to your expectations within the first 90 days, return the products and we will refund your original product's purchase price (which shall not exceed the manufacturer’s suggested retail price), plus labor (not to exceed $50 per pair). We're that confident you will be satisfied with Rancho® RS9000XL™ shock absorbers! For questions about this offer, please contact our customer service department at 734-384-7898.

*Offer limited to the purchase of four (4) RS9000XL™ shock absorbers. This offer does not include products which have been modified, improperly applied or installed on vehicles used for commercial or racing purposes. Offer valid only in North America and Canada on vehicles used for private, non-commercial use and may be withdrawn at any time.

Here is a link of a review from this board, after seeing Epic Cowlick's video it inspired me to get a set into forum members hand. I told him to give an honest review as well.
Pros/Cons etc.

To Rancho

Does Rancho have a lab test / side by side peformance comparisons of the Rancho 7000s vs the Bilstein 5100? Are there any technologies implemented in the Ranchos 7000 that makes them better and last longer than the Bilsteins? Why Rancho (aside from an article and a 90 day return policy)? If Rancho has some solid data on performance over the competition, I think we're open to seeing it. I'm about to pull the trigger on some 5100s but will hold off if there is compelling information otherwise.

Another thing: Thank you.

The individual that responds on behalf of Rancho on FTE takes the repeated **** whoopins we lay down over the Ford SuperDuty OEM Rancho "branded" shock and takes it in stride. Granted, this will continue indefinitely, but we appreciate the positive attitude.

I agree. All we ever hear about is warranty and how good it is. I want to know about the shock and why you think its better than a Bilstein. This thread reminds me of the movie "Tommy Boy" when they are selling the brake pads to the guy that only wants a warranty printed on the box. Tommy Boy says why would you put a warranty on the box if the product is that high of quality?

So I went to the Rancho site and the 90 day ride and lifetime warranty only applies to 9000's. I really don't want adjustable shocks. I remember seeing a giant Monroe/ Tenneco plant in Nebraska this summer along I -80, I'd like to help those nice folks that work there with their mortgage payments but what gives?

Since this post has grown to this level, I think I'll post my concern. People seem to use the speed at which the shocks return to full extention. After reading on how shocks work, I thought the pressure was just to keep the oil from foaming and the valving dictated the performance of the shock. So my question is the speed on which the shock returns to full extention a true test of a good or bad shock?

Woah!
I will try and answer all questions the best I can, if I don't answer your question to the best or missed it let me know.
In regards to a side by side, I would have to ask an engineer, and most likely they would only be ale to share vague specifics as we all tend to keep that info for our own use, but I next week I will be at SEMA and I will pick the brain of our lead engineer and see what he says. Take a moment to click on the link I posted earlier as well. The RS7000MT replaced the other brand BTW. Also feel free to ask bismic ( I think that is his screen name, I am own like 30 different forums a day. ) questions in the thread I mentioned.

Also no worries on the FX shocks, I hear the down side and the up side of these shocks all the time. This past summer on the Hot Rod Power Tour (I was there with our sister company DynoMax Performance Exhaust, another sponsor I am on this board but get more traction in the diesel forum with Rancho) I was talking to a guy who was towing a huge trailer across country with the FX and loved them.

I mention the warranty often because no one else who does this! That sets us apart from other brands out there. The article I posted up as well is noteworthy because an editor of a magazine gave them to a buddy to try out and it was the buddy who used them and gave his honest opinion. Many time the editors throw it on their own projects. Another thing imagine how ticked off you would be if you bought something and absolutely hated it, and the company said esentially "Too bad." It happens a lot and that ends up being more money out of your pocket. I will go back to our sister company and use another story from that side. We have a "drone free" muffler called the DynoMax VT. We have launched a TON of exhaust systems using this muffler this past year for a ton of applications. We do REALLY well in the Jeep Wrangler JK platform ( the new one). On another board a guy bought this system and PMed me about how it was too quiet and wanted to return it. I said no problem and he talked to the company he bought it from, they shipped him a label and he bought a louder system. That customer will tell his friends that DynoMax put up or shut up, as does Rancho, just save your receipt. People get mad at me because they lost/don't have it anymore. PS Tommy Boy Rocks!

We are in the process of aligning the warranty page and the info page right now. I actually caught that last week too and let the higher ups now.
But on this link it clearly talks about the 90 day guarantee.

Somehow the last post just got deleted about gas vs oil. Gas is a better option than oil. But oil has it place too. You want a steady return on the shock, not a lot of bouncing around. I have an RS9000XL that my three year likes for me to adjust because he can feel the difference in compression and rebound when I adjust it.

Again if you have more questions feel free to ask or PM me.

I would like to withdraw my question. I just ordered some Bilstein 5100's from 4wheelparts.com.
