www.keystonerestyling.com they have what they call a heat extractor hood(pulls heat out of the engine bay) and a twin ram-air hood that can be made fuctional. i have done alot of looking around at hood for the sd and i have yet to find a functional cowl induction hood.
I've seen a non functional hood from Browns of Two Rivers... price is $419.00 but I dont think its functional... a guy in town has one on his truck and it really looks good..... Not sure of the URL but go to a search engine and type in browns of two rivers.....
As Yeti said go reflexxion. Functional, good quality, good customer service. I have used their hoods in the past and was very happy with their products.
Any "flutter" of these hoods at speed ?
And are they functional cowl hoods to get some of the heat out of the engine bay ????
My Ex is a FURNACE in the summer :-)
No flutter at speed. These hoods are made to OEM specs. Reflexion also makes body panels to repair/rebuild older cars and trucks.
Yes they are functional. Open just as if you cut a hole in the hood and attach a cowl induction hood scoop. The rear opening has steel mesh screen in place to keep stuff from falling into the engine compartment when parked etc.

i cowl hood (cowl induction) does not pull air out from under the hood, it is designed to take advantage of the low pressure area that is created where the widshield meets the hood to supply a large amount of fresh intake air, if anything it will push cool air under the hood. a true functional cowl hood would be plumed to the air intake of the engine.
Reflexxion makes A nice steel cowl hood. Nice fit. (pictures in my gallery)
No flutter at speed (I have checked it out ) My body guy was impressed also, very little extra prep work. The heat comes out the back of the hood very well. Melts snow in the winter!
