Description:
Just rolled 227,000 miles.
I’ve had this truck for the past 26+ years in Florida. Although I don’t drive it often anymore, as reflected by the mileage, the only reason I’m selling is because my new location here in Tennessee requires me to have four-wheel-drive. This being a 2 wheel drive truck, it is not working in my new location. I really thought I would have this truck until my dying day. My steep, loose gravel driveway is the only reason for the sale of this truck.
I have all the maintenance records for my time owning this truck, including the replacement aftermarket transmission that went in at the 50,000 mile mark due to Ford’s bad torque converter, all the way up to having the entire air conditioning system replaced a few years ago, and some recent minor odds & ends including shift linkage bushing replacement.
Some of the pluses include coolant filter with SCA pre-charged element. SCA levels have been monitored and maintained throughout the life of this truck. Transmission fluid changed out every 30,000 miles with a new internal filter and external filter. Bypass oil filter installed. Dahl pre-fuel pump external fuel filter/water separator. Airhorns with onboard air system, including compressor, air tank, and air chuck to allow running pneumatic tools or use as a compressed air fill station. A-post pillar gauges, showing vacuum/restriction on the Dahl pre-fuel pump external fuel filter/water separator. Second gauge in the pillar stack shows fuel pressure. Bottom gauge registers EGT‘s. Also a transmission temperature gauge is installed. Scan Gauge II mounted for real time performance and diagnostics as well as monitoring for any codes. Ford Automatic Idle Control (AIC), Additional lighting, installed on the front and the rear of the truck as well as a rear-view camera. Front leveling kit was installed years ago with beefed-up rear leaf springs. This truck will take whatever weight you put on it. 22.5” Alcoa aluminum wheels with semi truck tires. Tire tread is like new.
WeatherTech floor mats up front.
The negatives: although I had the hood painted a few years ago, there are now spots on one door on the passenger side having the clearcoat/paint bubble. Small areas which I will point out in the photos. The bedliner coating which was applied years ago to the beefed up rear bumper has been flaking off and, frankly, looks terrible with a fair amount of rust on the bumper. The topper/camper shell which has been in place for the past 26 years has lived its life. The gel gloss coating is completely gone and there’s some other minor issues with the topper. I would consider the topper to have close to zero value. The fuel gauge has just started acting flaky. Sometimes it appears to be accurate, at other times it is not accurate.
Can do a video call to walk you around the truck showing you the interior and anything else you’d like to see.
Photos are older. I’ll be posting updated photos as I get the truck cleaned up.
