Description:

Want to trade my OBS 351, for a 1984-1987 F250 HD, 4 wheel drive with a 4 speed. 351 windsor or IDI under the hood.  (I don't really want a 460) So a bullnose , or the first year of the bricknose. Has to be the first year of Brick, no newer, because I want it to be carbureted , and want the 4 speed instead of 5.

The trade Needs to be Running and driving. Doesn't have to be perfect by any means , just want to be able to brake and steer, accelerate and get point a to point b under its own power . The rest is just minor details haha .

All the pictures are current with the exception of the snow ones. Tires are a little taller than snow pic, has side tool box now, and new exhaust exits behind right rear like stock location, not dual side pipes.

Trading my 1995 F250 for it. E4OD auto and 351 windsor. Supercab, longbed. 4wd, XLT, off road package. 3.55s, limited slip rear. Green (some people say blue ), Grey interior. Manual hubs manual t case shifter. Truck has just under 350,000 miles. Has been a wonderful rig for me , has never left me stranded, done everything I've  ever asked it to, a great workhorse. just want something a little different, been hankering to give my left foot a workout, miss driving a manual (unless there's traffic ). And I'm not allowed to have both haha! Has been my project truck , done quite a bit of work on it , and will continue to. The following works been done on it :

brand new (spare too) 235/85/16 (stock, 31.7" tall) Load range E Cooper discoverer AT3s. Awesome tires, impressive traction in the snow and ice .

-custom exhaust, as recommended by the guys on the forum . 2.5" single , with ceramic coated  longtube headers. Cherry Bomb, sounds great, actually pretty mellow , went with the longest one I think 30 inch. Can hear it coming obviously haha but definitely not too loud at all in the cab. Nice deep tone comes on at about 1,600 rpm.

-engine has great compression , I have the numbers written down, off my memory 4 were 180 and the lowest was 155 (PCV Valve one ) average across the board was 170.  Engine has great power, exhaust really woke up the bottom end . From the factory, horsepower peak is at 3,600. I just checked it the other day in second gear, is at 3,600 rpm at 60 mph (TC locked ) so have max power at 60 for climbing hills on the highway loaded.

-trans works great, always stays cold,
4wd works great, and the stock Trac lock in the rear functions perfect.

The quirks/projects need finished are:

-AC doesn't work , haven't investigated yet
-heat blows great, just sounds like you can hear the water trickling around in system sometimes i dont know how to describe it.
-in the middle of a manual window swap , drivers done passenger not yet. I roll the window down to open driver door, the door handle opener ripped its way out of the door and haven't fixed it yet.  Passenger window won't roll down (will when I finish swap )
-new hinges driver door , need to be adjusted.
-needs new door seal drivers door. (Some of it might be the hinges need adjusting too )
-check engine light , for EGR. On the list to drill into headers, hook up to EGR.
-ball joints and steering gear are worn (has a little play in the wheel , i dont even notice it though you know how it is when you get used to a truck)
-needs new front fuel pump , troubleshooted and the voltage test pinpoints pump is dead.
-needs starter wire cleaned up (havent had to do for a long while , but sometimes it won't crank, all i do is wiggle wire at starter then kicks right off )
--rear gas tank gauge is super pessimistic. Reads E with half a tank left.
-Column shifter is from a non OD unit , so no OD off button. I've got od shifter wired up just below column, to turn od off .
-no ignition cylinder stop, so can rotate past off and start.
-Rear main leak . Nothing crazy, just the normal leave a little splash of color where you park .
-Rad had a pinhole leak, i put some alumaseal in and i beleive fixed it , i will check.

thats all i can think of . I want to let you know,  Rather than most of the time you hear everything works perfect until you find out everything is not like it seemed . Then you're mad !

I have gotten 18.4 miles per gallon out of the truck before , almost all highway. Lately , a lot of idling , stop and go , short trips , firewood , dump etc getting about 10 mpg. Havent done a highway trip yet to see what it will get now , when i got 18 plus that was with a bad exhaust leak , stock manifolds , but still had the sideboards on ! I went 90 some miles and only filled up 4 some gallons. I wouldn't think it will get quite 18 until the EGR is working again , it helps MPG from what ive heard . Then, it should get even better, i would think 19 mpg, the headers and exhaust made a world of difference on low end torque it cruises with less throttle, vaccum is probably better for efficiency.

Has straight body, frame in good shape, normal rust, cleaned up a section of frame and cleaned up really nice, so just surface rust.  Only dents and dings are in the bed and the tailgate, little dent in the rear quarter by bumper. Some faded paint on the hood and roof, cracked windshield.

Parts installed in last 5,000 miles or less  -LED Headlight bulbs, nice and bright -rad cap -injectors  -starter -battery  -Fuel pressure regulator  - fuel pump rear tank  - fuel filter  - air filter  - spark plugs  - plug wires -windshield wipers- cap and rotor  - tie rod ends  - front brakes all done, soft lines near all 4 done. (Rear brakes 70 percent) RABS delete.  - alignment  -trans flush , filter (mark Kovalsky method) -trans temp gauge (set up by pillar , but don't have pillar mount yet wanted to wait until I got two more gauges to buy 3 pod pillar) -air pump delete, with idler pulley stock length belt.

I want to trade so I have no downtime from not having a workhorse rig. She has been an awesome rig with a lot of new parts and runs drives starts and stops like a top ! Most likely other trucks of this vintage have issues too you just won't find out until after you buy it , the previous owner forget to tell you haha.

Well that's it thank you very much for taking the time to read through the book I just wrote haha ! I always have a blast driving big green , I don't let it sit for long as thats the worst thing for a vehicle.  I will update with more info as I think of it . As I have time I enjoy working on the ol girl, so some of those issues will be gone as months go by . Have a great day!
