Description:
Please read. Happy to answer any questions but not ones that are in the ad.
I’ve researched this a bit but came as part of a package deal with my 59. I’ve gone over mine and the frame is in good condition so it does not make a lot of sense to toss it for this one. I’d entertain offers for some or all of the below. I would be willing to deliver within a half days drive or meet to hand it off for a fee.
ENGINE
1964 223 cubic inch straight six C8AE 6015 AC
C=1960's
3= First year this version of the part was used
A= Fullsize Ford car ( but was also used in trucks and vans ) . The 240's usually have the "A" and 300's have a "T". But this isn't always true. I think it's a parts bin deal.
E= just means the part is a engine part.
6015= Engine block.
AC = the engineering version.
Date Stamp is 4B18
I was told it has been rebuilt but looks to have been run by the look of the top end. The block is clean and has been repainted, the engine turns freely.
TRANSMISSION
1987 AOD trans. Tag : PKA DE1 E7SP ABTranslates to a 1984-'93 Mustang and Cougar with transmission code PKA (V-6 and V-8). Thus date code would make it an 87
Has a LOKAR nostalgia shifter on it (CMAODANMB or similar) and a custom adapter to the 223
FRAME
Excellent does not really describe it. There is a VIN stamped on the frame: F10J9R12000 but note IT DOES NOT HAVE A TITLE. I do not know the providence. It could be a meticulously restored frame or new with the vin put on. I have no way of knowing.
REAR END
Ratio says 3.70 but I have no idea if it’s been opened and changed. It’s us an open differential. The rears are drum brakes with lines to each side and a line that runs to the engine bay. New leaf springs/bolts
FRONT SUSPENSION
The front is fitted with disk brakes with lines to the frame.
OTHER
It has an exhaust system from the manifold to a resonator and a short exhaust pipe. It has a drive shaft.
