I have a 1987 F-250, 300 inline 6, 4-speed, 4WD, hydraulic clutch. I was driving it last Monday, and up-shifted to 3rd. Something snapped underneath and the clutch pedal went to the floor and sorta stayed. Right there on the floor. ?? "said, sorta like steppin' on a plum!" ?? LOL I was able to turn around and limped all the way back home in 3rd, then stalled it to kill the engine. I looked, and the clutch actuator rod was hanging underneath the bell housing. Much of the housing itself was missing.
So -- I probably need a bell housing, right? Clutch is fine; front drive shaft is butched a bit but OK. Help!!!
I have the bell housing from an 86 4-speed. It was on a diesel motor. Will that help?
This ad is two years old, so I'm guessing he no longer needs one. And the diesel bell is completely different. The one he needed only came on 300's, 302's and 351W's with the external hydraulic slave cylinder from 84-91 or whenever they stopped offering the grany low 4spd's behind them. Yours is the right age, wrong engine.
