Description:
This is a 1950 Ford F3 with Boyertown Body ordered by the USPS for mail delivery. According to online published information by both the USPS museum and the Boyertown museum, only 2,250 were built in 1949 and an additional 250 were ordered in 1950. This is one of the 250 made in 1950. Search for this truck online and you will see significant information regarding them published in the USPS museum website and the Boyertown, PA, truck museum website. As far as I know, there are only 4 known to exist other than the one I own; 2 are in museums and I found references to two others for sale in past years. I bought this truck in 1974 and drove it home. I parked it and regretfully, haven't driven or started it since. It will need a complete rehabilitation, but it's all there and it's all original. It has the 6 cylinder flathead, 3 speed manual, 17" tires, large front bumper, etc. This truck was converted into a lunch wagon sometime in the 1960's then used as a camper, then abandoned until I purchased it. I am moving and this is a project I will never have time to complete. It needs a new home and hopefully, someone will restore it as it is a piece of history since it is very rare. I based my price along the same lines as those other two I found that had been offered for sale in the past. I think it's reasonable, considering the rarity of the vehicle and the fact it's complete. Sure, it needs work, but its value once complete is priceless. Please consider this as your next project and give it the respect it needs to be brought back to fully restored condition. Don't hesitate to ask any questions. The mileage is accurate as evidenced by the lack of wear on the brake and clutch pedals. Finally, when i drove it home it ran fine and did not knock or smoke. I was in school at the time and parked it with the intention of restoring it, but alas, that has not happened and I'm not going to be able to do it. I hope someone will do that and give it the respect it deserves. I am located in East Tennessee near the intersection of Interstates 40 and 81. My name is Roger and my phone number is 865 606 3342. Please leave a message if I am unable to answer. I am selling my house and farm and moving, so the truck needs to go soon. Thanks for looking
