Hi Guys,
I would like to lower the RPMs on my truck for long distance cruising. Currently has a 4.10 gear and was overdrive back in the day. Anyone have any sources for a good 3.25 or a 3.00 rear end than will go under my '55 F100?
Many thanks!
Hopefully you will find a differential locally. If not, I have 3.25:1 ratio unit from my 66 F100 . It is Ford 9". Differential removed toward front of truck. I am located in South Carolina.
Unit is 28 spline, open rear end (Not Limited Slip). Lip seal should be properly replaced. New yoke needed or swap yours- I moved yoke to my "new" 3.00:1 unit, $200.00 plus UPS or motor freight charge. A new yoke is aprox $70 from internet parts house.
Best to search locally, as UPS likely $85.00 Check your local U-Pick-It salvage yard. Good luck & best regards. Nashman
