Truck is a 1988 Ford F250 diesel. Has a 7.3 IDI with a wastegated Banks turbo kit. Swapped in a ZF5 manual transmission.
In the last 3 years alot of work has been done to the truck. When I bought it, it was very rusty. I swapped the cab with a rust free cab, along with both doors, fenders and hood. Core support was repaired, painted and reinstalled. The bed has rust but not as bad as most I've seen. Heres a small list of things Ive done in the last 3 years.
R&D Performance rebuilt injectors
Motorcraft glowplugs with new control module
Installed used Banks turbo kit and made 3inch stainless exhaust
ZF5 swap, Rebuild transmission
ZUK clutch kit and flywheel
New clutch hydraulics
Swapped in Hydroboost
Installed International thermostat
Replaced block heater
Replaced heater core
Flushed coolant with Fleetcharge antifreeze
Replaced radio and speakers
Replaced rear u-joint
Pulled engine and resealed everything but head gaskets
Replaced oil pan
Made new battery cables and installed new batterys
Installed Monroe front shocks, Motorcraft in the rear
Found factory Alcoa wheels, replaced tires. A/Ts in the rear
Swapped bumpers with ones in better condition
Replaced all brake lines
Replaced low pressure fuel pump
Retimed and turned up high pressure pump
Installed also perfect bench seat, but its grey instead of tan
There is however things wrong with it and that's to be expected with a 30year old truck.
Both fuel tanks work, but neither level sender is accurate, or work when they want to and Im sure both "shower head" in the tanks are broken off. I know it'll get 170miles per tank before I need to fill it.
The paint is all different colors.
Interior shows its age and could use a good deep clean
The mode controls work in the dash, but the temp control doesn't. Its turn so its on heat, cable is broken in the dash. Heat is very good.
Power windows work but are slow.
Power lock only works on passenger side
Ive replaced the parking brake cables but since one has broken.
Truck has its pros and cons, but is a very strong and reliable runner. Perfect for a work truck or a starter truck to get in the diesel game. I drive is 60 miles a day on the highway, usually around 75-80mph. Very solid truck. Have clean title in my name. Price is negotiable
