Description:
I'll start by saying that while I'm new around here, I've been a member of the
FE Forums since their beginning (almost 20 years now) and I think anyone on
either forum can vouch for my integrity. Ok, enough of that...
I'm selling my '53 Ford truck project for funds for another project. I'll start
by saying that the pictures do not do this truck justice. Started
with a 100% original unmolested, dent free western truck. SUPER SOLID. Truck is
in pieces, but the chassis is 100% done and painted with ALL new parts,
including all lines, cylinders, bushings and bearings. Cab bodywork is done and
has been painted inside and edged. The color may not be to everyones liking, but
that can easily be changed. Cab started as a 100% rust free cab. No pinholes or
rusted spots. Inner fenders and most front engine bay components have
already been professionally painted gloss black. Truck and chassis is dirty from
sitting for several years. Needs a good cleaning but will clean up very nicely.
The chassis will be show quality with just a good cleaning. Always stored inside
on a concrete floor.
Comes with many spare parts, including:
2 rust free, dent free hoods
2 rear sets of fenders (one set perfect, another set needing some lead work
finished {no hod work or plastic filler here})
2 good tailgates
2 front roll pans
2 heater boxes
2 radiator core supports (one finish painted)
various other spare parts are included, but these are the main spare parts
Brand new parts never used or still in the box include:
New windshield
New running boards
Most new rubber to complete the truck
Truck is 100% complete to the best of my knowledge, except for hardware to
reassemble. Comes with good oak for the bed. Radio and steering wheel have been
stored inside the house to protect from heat and moisture. Steering wheel is
perfect with no cracks. Engine was rebuilt by my Dad and me about 15 years ago,
but never ran. It was a standard bore engine, and kept that way. It got honed and new rings and bearings installed. Needs cleaned
and repainted to be show quality, and maybe some new gaskets. Might want to pull
a head to make sure cylinders are still in good shape, but they were oiled down
when built. Engine is the original engine that came in the truck and is 100%
correct. The ONLY rust to be found on the truck are a small area on the inside
lower portion of the drivers door (seen in a picture) and a small amount of
repair needed at the back of the bed. Bed side panels are solid.
I seriously doubt you'll find a better original example anywhere. Take a look at
the original seat to get an idea of the originality and how good of shape this
truck was when it was brought home from out west. It has not seen the road in
probably 45 years. Easy project to finish! Located in NW Ohio about 15 miles
from Lima. Come take a look at it if you're serious. You will not be
disappointed. Please, no tire kickers, only serious considerations.
I've included a couple pictures here, but for more detailed pictures, please
check out the link below to a gallery of several shots I've taken. If more
detailed pictures are desired, I'll do my best to provide them. Just ask.
