    Yes you can. I've flushed a few Taurus using that method.

    Mark is the flushing automatic transmission fluid procedure for a front wheel drive version AX4N that comes in Windstar and Ford Taurus..in 2000 and up models about the same as for rwd drive models.? in that you can remove say radiator cooler line and and crank engine and pump out...then repeat ...??

    It could be a problem with the vacuum modulator or the governor. I'm not a C6 expert, they are a lot different than an electronic transmission.

    Mark I have a 1974 Ford F 100, 360 ENGINE, C6 Automatic Transmission, my problem is the transmission seems to upshift quickly when taking off from 1st, then hardly stays in 2 gear on to 3rd gear! Its downshifts good always goes in 1st at stop!
    Have any idea what could be the problem?
