hey guys at my wits end i pickt this truck off an old farmer it misses bad threw all the gears it looks like he changed the pick up coil i think thats what its called in the distributor it moves side to side and hits the shaft what do u guys think
If it has two wires, then yes it is a stator "pick up". Did you check to make sure the firing order is correct? if it is look to see if the dist. was removed it is possible it could be a couple of teeth out, it has to go two teeth so it will sit back on the oil pump shaft. also make sure that the advance moves. It is also possible that it could be locked and sending spark at the wrong time. My guess would be one of the first two, maybe someone else might have a better guess. good luck!
ok i will check that but i do no stator or ickup: wobles up and down and hits the gear like wheel thats on the shaft-------- it does advance
I took my duraspark out, got rid of the whole setup (coil & module) and put in an H.E.I dist. with everything built in. Simple one wire hook up! easy peezy trust me it's worth the scratch and far less problems. if it's not the stator or dizzy than its the module that are issues with those setups.
