Parts arrived !!!

I received most of the engine parts I needed today to get started putting my 47 flatbed back together. If you recall I had the wrong fan, generator and distributor. Also was missing the fan shroud. I'm replacing the timimg cover so I can install the proper distributor (59A-12127). I have to remove the crankshaft pulley because I need to add a double.

I didn't have a socket for the crankshaft ratchet nut and I was wondering if anyone knows what size the socket needs to be. I'm guessing it's 1 and 3/16ths but would like to be sure before I buy the socket. Also is this bolt a left handed thread?.

Thanks in advance,
Jack

Gidday Jack, the crankshaft pulley bolt ( it has the crank handle ratchet cast into the bolt head ) on my '42 is 1 5/16'' AF and is a right hand thread. Good luck, Steve.

Thanks Steve for the information. I did get it off. A 1" and 1/4 socket wouldn't fit in the recess of the flange so I used a 1" and 3/16 that just fit over the spurs and it was a 12 point socket. This gripped just enough to get it. Fortunately it wasn't on too tight.

Putting it back on when I get the new double pulley will be much easier.

Thanks again for the reply.
Jack
