I had a problem tonight removing the axle shafts from my traction-lok equipped rear diff (I have a leaking wheel seal). Specifically I couldn't remove the c-clip (or C-lock as Haynes manual calls it) without 1st removing the preload spring (which was a b*tch to remove and will probably be even harder to get back on). Haynes says there's no need to even mess with that and makes it sound like those clips practically fall out on their own, but I couldn't see any other way to do it (actually looks like that spring locks the clips in place, to me). Did I miss something?
Also, I broke the both o-rings that sit with the c-clips on the grove of the axle shafts and was wondering if anyone know what the 'official' name of that part. I have a feeling I might have a hard time at the parts store finding a replacement without it.
