The kid was 19 years old.....not harping on young kid drivers, but holy smokes. Was speed a factor? Older firebird.....jeez, let me think...

I looks like it increased speed when it launched.

Wasted a perfectly good Firebird. Idiot.

I'm amazed he lived through that. (news story said he got ejected when it went airborne before the impact and was alert and conscious after the wreck).

I'm not sure what happened to natural selection here. After watching the video, I was sure no one could survive that. Didn't even see the brake lights till it was in launch mode.

Perhaps he was granted a second chance for swerving to avoid injuring others. Can you imagine what the impact would have been like if he had rear ended the cruiser, or some other car at that speed?

I saw that on the news earlier. I think it's amazing that the guy lived through that. He was definitley going too fast. I bet he doesn't do that again.

Holy Flying Firebirds, Batman!!!

What do you bet he was texting or otherwise fiddling with a gadget while traveling in excess of 100mph? Not that he'd ever admit it.

That's hilarious.....I had a Yugo when I was 19. Bet you had more power than I did! It was a 1.1 liter lawn mower engine!
