1947 Pickup Hood Trim

Looking for an answer to the top of Hood Trim. The long piece that runs down the center of the Hood to the Cowl Vent, and the other end at the Cast Piece.

Is the long piece supposed to fit under the Cast Piece at the front, and also does this same piece have the same contour as the the Cast one?????

Currently I have a space about 1/8 of an inch between the 2 pieces, and am in doubt whether the piece in question is in fact correct.

Any comments on this would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Might help if you post some pics of what you have.

Here are a couple of shots of my 1-ton. It's a little hard to see the trim though. If you don't get a better answer before the next time I'm up where it is living for now, I'll get a better shot of it. Looks like it just butts up though.

The pics you posted are exactly what I was looking for, and it is the same as what my Truck Hood Trim is the same.

I had thought that some one had put on a different piece from what ever, but it is the very same.

As far as posdting a pic goes, I would have but am currently having problems with my photo editor, or some thing else on my computer. This morning all I am seeing are pixels of your posted pics. Last night I saw both pics very clear, thanks for your reply much appreciated.

the center bar slides over a moulded tab that is part of forward cast trim. a small gap is correct fit. should have three or four threaded clips to hold trim down on hood. these clips are very similar to clips holding grille trim on nose.
