It doesn't matter if they go back to fighting. The Iraqi people never wanted us there, the tribal people never wanted us there and sure as the Taliban doesn't want us there.
Only US news propaganda would have us believe that we are welcome there.
We need to totally abandon the big sand pit and bring them all home, period. We've never achieved our original objective after nearly 8 years of occupation.
Sorry if I went to far, i'm sure it'll get kicked to the club.

This is nothing more than a media stunt meant to improve the outlook of certain people. In my opinion, the war ended when the Iraqi government fell and the old army was disbanded or surrendered. That was years ago. We've been in a police action since then, and we've still got 50,000 troops over there who will continue the same mission, now with less reinforcements.
My question now is, the next American death (which I believe has already happened), will that start the count over or be added to the death toll of the war? Are the injuries and deaths of our servicemen now any different that the "war" is now "over"?

They have just been renamed "Advise and Assist" Brigades.

and if we leave..what will move in and fill the void?
Iran is sitting there in better shape then ever..
Taliban are in need of a new home...
Lets not forget our buddies buddies in al qaeda.. they certainly need a home right now..
but we are just wanting to pack up and leave them to figure it out..we need to turn that whole area into a glass parking lot and be done with it..
I believe you are mistaken if you think leaving there will leave the US in a better position.

I thought we could have the suvivors work the pump.. just a thought...
On the other hand..how much oil would we need if we dont need to support all of our troops over seas, we bring them all home, we have our own oil.. heck.. we have so much it is just out there floating around waiting to be picked up..
But truthfully, if we no longer had to worry about that region.. how much less money would be piped out of this country
