Slow Websites ( not FTE)

Has anyone noticed that places like Sears, Lowes, and Home Depot are slow to load? I think that I first noticed it a year or so ago. Before that they seemed OK.

I can't imagine what they're like on dialup.

I don't think it's me. I have RF DSL, and it works pretty good most of the time.

Just curious,

My guess would be that as the bad people get smarter, the good guys (the sites you're trying to load) have to add layers of protection. More protection from malicious stuff means slower load times.

Oh hell yes I noticed it. I don't have the patience to sit thru it when I'm searching for something on their sites, so basically they lose my business, unless I take the time to go to their stores, but the whole point of going to their sites, is to avoid going to the stores in the first place.
