I like these years for pickups and trucks, and the squared off front always looked good to me (yeah, I must be weird) but a chopped roof with that front doesn't seem to flow to me. Just my opinion, though. The execution of the build looks great, though.

Now I can see what you mean. Heavy on the front, light on top, a little proportion issue. Still neat.
My 46 looked somewhat similar before the hood. Radiator below fender line, and no hood latch shroud above hood line. But the wind into the firewall and windshield was substanstial.
The hoods start with a rounded point and angle back helping wind resistence a lot.
