Hood trim
Happy 4th everyone. I have a 1947 1 ton truck got this truck with no chome on it but it was painted so I figured it would be ok, but to locate these pcs hasn't been easy. My wife found the jail bars but no hardware was shipped. I need the center and the hood side wiskers. Anyone have these pcs to sell or know where to find good pcs to work with or buy new. I have also heard that the 1 ton trim is not the same as 1/2 ton?

I'm assuming you are working on a Ford, and not a Mercury truck. The trim is identical for all ton ratings, 1/2 ton all the way to 3 tons. The die cast pieces on front of the hood are readily available from eBay. I see them all the time and have bought approximately ten sets from eBay over the years. If you need the strip on the very top of the hood, check Bob Drake, they have them in stainless steel. The side spears are not available new, but do come up on eBay frequently, but many sets are rusted or pitted.

you might try going to the bigger car shows with vendors. these parts show up quite often. the hardware for fastening is available new. can't recall name off hand of vender, but see them at these shows. if you have an old fastener, take it with you for sample. make a list of all you need. you might be surprised what you find.
