outside bottom window sweep replacement and door seal
thanks in advance for any help! need some help on how to replace the window sweep at bottom of outside window, and the door seal around the door thanks
You need to pry up the weatherstrip with a screwdriver and it will come right off with some work. Installation just press the weatherstrip down into the places in the door where the clips attach. The window should be in the down position.
The door seal just presses onto the cab "weatherstrip lip". You will have to remove the moldings from around the door on the inside. Weatherstrip adheasive is optional, as the factory did not use it.
One thing to note about the door stripping is that the factory weatherstripping has a sort of spring-steel clamp inside it, where it attaches to the body (hence why it didn't need adhesive from the factory). Some cheap weatherstripping doesn't have this, thus why you would need to use the adhesive. If you get a good quality kit like an OEM or one from LMC, it is the same as stock and doesn't need the glue.
