Preparing for long travel

Hey guys! It's been a while since I was on here. I'm still in Italy. I'm preparing to get back to the states and travel from Atlanta to Las Vegas with a trailer hauling my mustang. I want to upgrade my tranny cooler and add some gauges but want to ask you guys before I buy anything. Is there anything else I need? I do not have the trailer yet. Can I buy a trailer brake now and have it installed without a trailer present?

What site and what products are proven? I plan on buying within the next day or so. It'll get shipped to my Uncle who will take my truck to a shop to get it installed.

Thanks!!

Get the 6.0l cooler from Ed the Parts Guy on here. I got it shipped for about $240. Fits right on and is much bigger than the one you have.

You can install a brake controller any time. I recommend either a tekonsha prodigy or a tekonsha p-3 (which is just the newer model of the prodigy)

Another good purchase is a ScanGaugeII which will, among other things, show tranny fluid temp and water temp. It's about $170 at Auto Zone. Plugs into the OBD port.

Sweet, I just ordered the Prodigy one. The P-3 looked good but I think would be too confusing/much for me.

For the cooler, you would recommend a 6.0 and not a tru-cool?

What does everyone do here for gauges? I already have a DP-tuner programmer. Are there any monitoring systems that do not have programmers on them? should I just get autometer ones?
