2000 v-10 O/D light, blowing fuse, tranny?

On my 2000 V-10 at a stoplight today, went to accelerate and no response. The Overdrive light began to blink, and service engine soon came on. Reverse is fine, got it home in second. I figured (hoped) the problem had to be electric due to absolutely no prior shifting problems.

Looked up a post on similar problems, one possible solution I found was a blown fuse #19 under the hood. I checked it out and sure enough it was fried (along with #13). I replaced both and the #19 (25 Amps), popped again immediately and no improvement with the symptoms mentioned.

So I figure I need to find a short, but have no idea what circuit the #19 serves, can't figure it out from the manual schematics.
I'll check the O/D wire itself in the shifter. Any other ideas? Thanks from Colorado

Checked O/D wire in column, and everything looks good. The fuse I keep blowing is #19 under the hood, not the inside driver panel. The manual says this fuse is for the E40D/HEGO, so something with the tranny. This thing pops every time I start the car, no shifting needed.

Still running rough, barely engages in Drive, 2nd and reverse are better.
Any ideas of what wires/sensors etc to check on the circuit this fuse serves?

Thanks

Help! Fuse 19 in engine bay keeps popping.

Wondering if you ever found the issue with this? I just had the same issue happen with my 2000 V-10 and it is driving me bonkers. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I got under my Excursion with a flashlight and looked for any wires that were worn bare. Low and behold, there was one way up closer to the back of the engine that I could see the copper shining through the wire where it had rubbed off over the years and was apparently arcing and causing the short. (Sorry I can't remember where exactly, was so long ago). I couldn't reach it with my arms, so I taped a small paintbrush on the end of an arrow shaft and used it to brush multiple coats of that spray can rubber stuff over the exposed portion of the wire. Never have had the problem again, still running with 272K miles
