thank you for the help in posting these for me and yes i think truck was maintained very well over the years originaly came from longveiw alberta that is close to the usa borber so i am thinking it was imported at one time due to the mph speedo [we were metric in 77 or so] i realy need to chang that out as miles does not work up here when every thing is in kph regurds joe
Nice truck. The only SCS I have ever seen in person that I can remember was like a 76 or 77 that some guy had in town. I would see it going down the road once or twice a month and I always did a double take, wondering what kind of special package it was. I do seem to recall a truck someone had locally that they had made a dually out of with homemade fender flares and they had cut the top of the bed to accept some kind of camper, I think it was a scs too now that I think about it.
stock 460 c6 3.73 dana 70 runs pretty good on 8 cyls i think there was a stuck valve that finaly let go at about km 500 of the trip dosnt miss when pulling but idles a bit rough i need to remove valve cover and check for a bent pushrod but i will tell you a 1/2 ton ride it isnt its jawbreaking rough with all hd springs with overloads to boot and i may have to remove some of the spring pack or i will probebly be riding alone as the wife is not inpressed with makeing a sun roof with her head lol
Put a heavy load to it and it will ride like a Caddilac lol, I had a 88 F250hd with the 7.3 and it was like that, road like a buckboard, a 1 ton pallet of fertilizer in the bed and it was like a big cloud going down the road.
Nice truck, but the thing that stuck out to me was the lower race track trim piece that goes over the tire door. I know how difficult it is/was to find a good piece and get one refurbed for the in bed tool box...you better cherish that trim piece like it's a bar of 24k gold.
Quick question, and I apoligize for being off topic, but am I right that they dropped the SCS name in 77 and it just became a Camper special, yet retained all the SCS stuff? If that is correct, what ended up happening with the camper special package when the SCS became the CS?
