I just aquired a 74 F250 4x4 and a 76 F250 2 wheel drive. I traded my 74 CJ5 for both trucks. Both trucks are "Custom" Cab. Spartain to say the least. The 4x4 has a 360, 4spd, power assist steering and RUST in the cab cornors and doors. The bed is a little rough as well. The P.O. used it as a ranch truck but its fairly clean and not hacked up at all. The 76 is rust free and has a 390 so I'm planning to scavange as much from it as I can. I think I got a pretty good deal.
Welcome to FTE and to the awesome world of Ford! I think that's a great deal since you traded your Jeep for a Ford ! When you get some pics, post 'em up please!
[quote=Warrior79;8876533]Well if you got two trucks for one jeep i'd say that must have been a nice jeep. Unless the guy just didnt want/need the trucks.[/quote
Thats pretty much the story. The guy traded his 1980 cj7 for a 1989 F150 4x4 and didn't need the old 74 anymore, and so on and so on The Jeep I had was a 74 Renegade in similar condition as the Highboy.

I will post pics asap. This is the fourth Ford Truck i've owned. My 1st was a 72 F250 Ranger XLT. Wish I still had it. 2nd was a 78 F250 XLT Lariat 4x4, the biggest P.O.S I've ever owned. This truck was a lemon. The 351M smog monster sucked. The third was a 68 Bronco, I6 3 on the tree. I wish I stil had this one as well. The 74 is smog exempt in Ca now and I think the FE engine was one of the best Ford ever developed, so I think I made a wise choise. Not to many of these old trucks around anymore.
