I was curious if anyone had any idea of the price of Model AA budd wheels. I have a friend that is looking for some and he was wondering how much he should expect to spend. Any info is greatly appreciated.

It might depend on where you find them. I've seen them for sale twice at the Iola swap meet in Wisconsin for I think $20 asking price each. Since you're in CT I'd think you could find similar at Carlisle or Hershey.

Occationally you see these and other old truck wheels on eBay. Commonly the seller thinks they are golden, and you have shipping costs to deal with on top of the bid price. Also eBay wheels are sometimes missing their lock rings, or at minimum you have no way to know that the lock rings match the rims. Mix matching rings and rims is dangerous business. Or, as in the case of a listing that's on eBay currently for NOS 40's era tonner lock rings, the seller has given wrong information in the listing. I've emailed the guy about it.

Generally I buy old wheels when I come across them just to keep them from being scrapped, but admit I've not bought the old AA style. I assume you know that these early wheels have a 5 lug on 6 7/8" bolt circle. Dodge also used them. In 1934 Ford changed to the 5 lug on 8" bolt circle. Hope that helps.

Edit - I like your taste in daily drivers. Mine is a '97 F-250 reg cab 4x4 with 460 and ZF 5 speed. Ordered it new and today has about 115,000. Stu

They have tons of info, i've seen many wheels go for $100-200, I think with 100 being about average. They don't have any swap meets anywhere close to my location that I know of. Allways wanted to go to one but never been able to make it.
