trailer charging relay
I have a 2011 with the max tow. It didn't come with the fuse and relay for the 12v to the trailer. I went down to the dealer. The parts guy couldn't find the exact model number of the charger relay. I pulled one out of the fuse box. The numbers are the same, 8L8T-14B192-AA on all of them. He said he didn't have any and would call around. Today he said he had one so I picked it up a long with the fuse. Came in the kit. I got home and notice the number on the relay is 8t2t-14b192-aa. The kit number on the bag is al3z-15a416-a. Can I use this? If not, can I pull the one for the rear defroster and throw it in for the 12v?

Problem solved. It's the replacement number for my current one. Called the parts guy this am and was told. Funny thing with all this is the relay is $30 alone. The kit, relay and 30 amp fuse is $12. Parts guy at the dealer pointed this out to me.

The kit contains the correct relay and fuse. Go ahead and install them. 
I deal with parts, of all kinds, on a regular basis. Sometimes a part number gets revised without an actual change to the part itself. Komatsu stands out, in my mind, when I say that. Ford tends to do it, too.

I need to get this. My dump trailer was dead the other day. Luckily, I was at home and it had enough juice to let me bring the dump down. It has an external charger but I hadn't plugged it in recently. Lesson learned.
