Need some help here on installing a Heater in my 47 Pickup. Question is are there any type of a sleeve that goes over the Mounting Studs, that are or will be on the inside of the cab, up against the Firewall.
usually, the heater box is mounted inside the cab on passenger side with studs thru firewall under hood. what kind of unit are you using? i believe that there is a picture in my gallery showing under hood on a 42. should be the same. (except mine is on driver side)
I have the correct 3 door Heater and all the holes are drilled ready for mountint as you mentioned.
What I wanted to know is are there any small sleeves that fit over the Mounting Studs, that will butt up against the inside of the Firewall. These would prevent the insulation from being compressed up against the Fire Wall from the inside when you tighten up the nuts on the Mounting Studs.
got it. mine did not have any sleeves, but, you could cut some steel tubing to fit. i don't recall my insulation being crushed much at all. guess i gotta go look.
