I'm getting the X ready to hual the TT from Louisville to Disney next friday. Obviously I got younguns, and am going to need entertainment on the trip. Waht kind of recordable DVD media have any of you had luck with being compatible and works well wtih the factory overhead DVD player? Thanks in advance!

I have tried TDK +R and Sony -R media so far with no luck.....

These players can be very finicky in playing burned DVD's. I would suggest you get better media for best results. Mine will only play Taiyo Yuden "premium Line"(not the "value line"). I use the 16x -R and I have no problem with playback in the 05' X. If you do use +R media you will need to set you Booktype or Bitsetting to DVD_Rom for it to playback. I also slow the burner down to 8x to avoid an error on the disc. The cheap media found in big box stores will not play in mine. Here is where I buy mine, I buy 600 at the time.

Taiyo Yuden DVD-R, Taiyo Yuden DVD R, Taiyo Yuden DVDR, Taiyo Yuden DVD R Discs - SuperMediaStore.com

What programs are you using to Convert, Rip, Burn ?

I use mostly DVD Fab to Rip/Burn
ConvertX to convert
ImgBurn to burn
AnyDVD along with CloneDVD2

I have other programs that I also use for sync issues and such.

Hope this helps.

DVD-R DVDs have better compatibility with older DVD players than DVD+Rs do. Memorex, TDK, or maybe one of the knockoff DVD-R discs should work...

Learned that from working at Circuit City for 3 whole years...

I'm using AnyDVD to rip to hard disk and using Nero Recode to size it down and burn it to disc. I dont have any problems with any of my other players tho.
