I would like to know if my engine is original and matches my truck. Please tell me how I can tell. This is a 1964 F-100 Vin F10JD565049 Engine CBAE- 6015AC Date code 4E84
What do the letters on the engine stand for?
Is there a serial number to look for and where if so?
Is there a serial number stamped on the engine?
What other information would I need to verify this?
I thought the E in the date code stood for May How do you match the engine number to the vin as far as showing this is the original engine? Is there another serial number to look for?
Do you know of any links that may help me?
Thank you for all your help. These numbers were told to me by the seller and I thought there was something wrong with the picture. The casting number did not add up to me. Thank you for clarifying the matter.
