64 engine ID

I would like to know if my engine is original and matches my truck. Please tell me how I can tell. This is a 1964 F-100
Vin F10JD565049 Engine CBAE- 6015AC Date code 4E84

What do the letters on the engine stand for?
Is there a serial number to look for and where if so?
Is there a serial number stamped on the engine?
What other information would I need to verify this?

Engine ID

I thought the E in the date code stood for May
How do you match the engine number to the vin as far as showing this is the original engine? Is there another serial number to look for?
Do you know of any links that may help me?

Bare block casting number and the date it was cast.

Is there a serial number to look for and where if so? None.

Is there a serial number stamped on the engine? No.
Welcome to FTE

The engine casting number prefix can't be CBAE, as the second digit is a number, representing the year. It could be C0AE.

4E84: 4E is correct, 84 is not correct. The last two numbers represent the day of the month.

4E: 4 = 1964 / E = May.

There is no way to tell if this is the original engine, as there's no VIN stamped on engine blocks of this vintage, but...

The block was cast in May 1964, and the truck, according to its serial number (565049), was assembled in July 1964.

So my guess is...if the casting number prefix is C0AE, the engine is original to the truck.

Thanks

Thank you for all your help. These numbers were told to me by the seller and I thought there was something wrong with the picture. The casting number did not add up to me. Thank you for clarifying the matter.

Just remember there is no such thing as matching numbers for ford trucks. Any one touting matching numbers is a bu!!***** artist.
