I have a 1999 f350, and i want to paint my grill white. Is there any certain kind of paint or preperation i need to do to it to paint it? And if so, where can i buy the paint?
Is your grill plastic chromed or painted?
I'm sure that will make a difference in the prepwork.

I believe its plastic with the chrome arond the edges and the gray plastic in the middle by the emblem, the stock grill. Ive never really painted anything like this so im pretty much lookin for step by step procedures on how to do this?
Have you tried a google search. There are a lot of sites around that specialize in auto body work and painting. (painting plastic parts) kind of search.
I'm only offering the search option so you're not waiting to long for detailed replies here if you happen to be wanting to get started on it the right away.

sand it with 180 grit and sand the crap out of it...put a light coat of etching...or zinc phosphate primer let flash for 10 mins then 2 wet coats of 2k or any kind of 2part high build primer let dry then prep with 400 grit paper and spray it....you need to really rough up that chrome for it to bite.....but its worth it in the end unless you want it to peel off...
