1938 Ford pannel truck vin

Hi All, where do I find the vin number on a 1938 Ford pannel truck and how do I decode the vin number once I find it? I have a title, but the numbers do not look right to me.
The vin number on the Title is 50289 55.
Any info would be a great help.
Ken

Vin number is stamped on the frame top surface next to the steering box mount. Also stamped on the crossmember over the rear axle. The number is also on the transmission, right below the inspection opening on the bell housing. Obviously the title, frame and transmission numbers should match.
