2000 trailhead edition to 4x4?

2000 trailhead edition to 4x4?
would it be worth it to covert a 2000 ford ranger which is a trail head edition (2wd with 4x4 suspension and frame) to 4x4? the reason i ask is because i have a buddy that has a wrecked 4x4 that i can get cheep, so any opinions would be greatly appreciated

I have a white 2000 trailhead that I was considering installing a 4x4 driver line from a 2008. There are some things you might want to consider; although they share a lot of the same components they don’t share everything. It all depends how much work your willing to do; I doubt you will have any problems with the front spindles and axle but cross member and mounts will be your major setbacks not to mention computer modules. I have had two project trucks this past year, two 83 short beds 2wd. one I converted into 4x4 and the other I’m hot Roding out with a ecoboost v6 “when ever that available as a create motor” the 4x4 was hard work but I’m glade a I did it. But as for my 2000 trailhead I don’t think I want to mess with the modules and wiring

I'm also wonder just what modules there are that would have to be changed. I've got a 2000 4x4 that I was think about going to 4x2. What mounts would have to change?
