i have a 2000 ranger xlt off-road edition truck. automatic 3.0 flexfuel. its a GREAT truck and i love it, but i believe i need to replace the belt tensioner on it. i replaced the serp. belt about 2 weeks ago and its sqealing again. but its a gatorback belt, so that shouldnt happen. the pulley is flush with the belt, so i believe the tensioner is beginning to give way. just hoping someone could explain how to replace it. Someone said i have to take off the fan and remove fan cover and a bunch of other stuff that sounds time consuming. any help would be help me a lot. also, just wondering, whats the difference in the regular 4x4 and the 4x4 off road edition, i know its got 10 inch drums instead of 9, but thats all i know. thanks
You will need to post your question in the tech forums since this one is used for introductions. Click on the Forums tab at the upper left and look over the choices. I would suggest the Ranger forum to ask your question. Here's the link: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum35/
