I have someone who is willing to negotiate a trade with me on this carb - It's been sitting in his shed for a few years and he told me he pulled it from an aluminum recycling pile. He knows nothing about this carb and has never taken it apart - I would like to know whether or not it's salvageable...
I know nothing about Holleys, I've always had Carters, Rochesters, and an Edelbrock...
It has a tag on it with the following: Motorcraft
D2HF DA
B 6L17
There's a number on top, by one of the float bowls: 5730
63391
The numbers on the air horn are: D2HF-9510-DA
LIST-6339-1
3226
I tried Googling the information, but I'm not coming up with anything other than it's of 1972 vintage and they were used on 390's... I'm hoping some Holley guru on here can tell me what this is...
In this picture, there are 2 ports that have nothing in them - I'm guessing one of them should have a metering screw but I'm not sure about the other one.
In this picture, what are these things I've got marked? I'm guessing they're vents?Hmm... I guess one of them is the distributor vacuum?
A couple more pics:
In this picture, you can see that one of the booster venturi's is half-missing - I can't tell what happened to it - Are these replaceable?
If that booster venturi can't be repaired, I'm not going to bother with this thing...
So, what do y'all think? Is this thing salvageable or not? What is it?
