I desire to soften the ride of my 61 ford.. I recently learned that it is possible to re-arc the existing leafs, therefore reducing/dampening the spring from the stock configuration. Has anyone else had any experience with this technique??? I understand that longer shackles would be necessary, what other modifications may/would be needed??? My desire for the truck is for a daily driver, not totally interested in slamming it down….
OR, are the “modern” single leafs (aftermarket) the way to go to get my objective??? The first option, if viable is @ 1/10 the cost…. Obviously an incentive..
If weight carrying capability is not a factor, and your springs seem to be in fairly good shape you might consider removing one of the leaves from the spring pack.
