Cheap o-rings, and why you shouldn't use them
A while back I posted about how I replaced the injector o-rings, and suspected the new ones failed after my truck burned through 8 quarts of oil in 200 miles.
Well, all 8 injectors looked like this when I pulled them out. Notice the chewed up looking o-ring:
So take note. Never by cheap o-rings from an auto parts store.
By the way, the composition of those cheap o-rings is completely different than the Alliant replacements that I put in.

I've said this for years and it holds true for whatever you buy:
AMERICA NEEDS TO GET OVER "CHEAP".
One of my biggest gripes concerns the sheer number of posts started with, "Where can I get the cheapest ________?"
There you have it.
For these trucks, dealer only. Be it International or Ford.
