Dave - Thanks for sharing. It also appears to be a real one rather than a converted sedan. I'll watch the auction site. Jan 22nd is coming right up. Stu
Hi Stu - Yes, it's a real one - located in Illinois. I know the owner a little through the Woodie Club; he did a Pebble Beach-class restoration, including having new brake drums cast! All new wood body is by Mike Nickels, Michigan. Lots of other high-end cars in that auction, as well.

New brake drums cast you say. Would I be correct that he got them from Rich Adams before he passed away? I was at the Adams estate sale and was out bid on the molds for those drums. That sale was quite an experience. Stu
Dave - Did you see the auction results? Neither the woodie nor the Sportsman, that I assume also belonged to Dan Adams, matched the Alexander results. Sort of surprising. Both looked great going across the stage. Stu
Hi Stu -
Yes, I saw the results...I can't figure why he would drop the reserve so low; when I talked with him, he said RM had been after the car for a while, and that he'd only let it go for the reserve. He doesn't strike me as a guy that's hard up for $$$, but who knows? I'd be concerned about the sale price devaluing my car, except I'll never sell it so that's irrelevant! As for the Sportsman, it's not listed under his name in the Woodie Club roster, so I don't think it was also his. Wonder where they went?
